I’m Chuck Charles. I named this site Chippewa Marine in part to honor my dad, Harry L. Charles, a Chippewa Indian who attended Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, Pa from 1911-17. The name also comes from the fact that I spent 30 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 1985 as a MGySgt (Master Gunnery Sergeant – the highest enlisted rank).

I am a private pilot, and built and flew my own airplane, a Vari-Eze. I am also an avid photographer. I enjoy computers and any electronic ‘gadgets’. I also love traveling and am currently a full-time RVer seeing the U.S. in a Wildcat 5th Wheel with my ‘beautiful bride’, Cheryl, and our Yorkie-Poo, Shadow.
