Today Mom, Dad, and I participated in the big Las Vegas Santa Run here in Las Vegas, to benefit Opportunity Village. Over 7,00 people signed up to run/walk today, everyone dressed in Santa suits – including some of my fellow dogs! It was weird, I tell you. Why would humans want to dress themselves, much less us, in funny red pajamas with white beards and goofy hats? Oh well, I long ago gave up on trying to figure those two-legged creatures out.
Fortunately, my humans had me wear my Marine Corps Dress Blues for the occasion – to represent our Nation’s Finest, of which Mom and Dad are proud veterans, and to promote Toys for Tots. Turns out it was a great move, as I won the Best Dressed Pet award! My reward was a big basket of doggie goodies including cookies and toys, and a free grooming – all from Doggy a Go Go and their Pet Spa on Wheels. I also won VIP tickets to Mystère™, Cirque Du Soleil, courtesy of Opportunity Village and the Treasure Island Casino for my Mom and Dad. No one can ever say I don’t earn my keep!
It was a fun day, but kind of exhausting. After all the festivities, and writing this blog, I’m ready for another nap! It’s tough being a cute little Devil Dog. Enjoy the pictures below and there are more in the Santa Run Album on our photos site, Chippewa Marine Photography if you care to take a look.
